How we handle your data.

Last updated: 2026-05-26
Beta notice: Race Committee is in active beta. This page describes what we collect today and how it’s stored. We’ll publish a final, counsel-reviewed privacy policy before general release.

What we collect

Only what you give us:

Where it lives

Account data and regatta data are stored in Supabase (Postgres + row-level security). Hosting is on Vercel. Vision OCR runs against the Anthropic API. Each of these providers has its own privacy practices that govern data in transit and at rest on their infrastructure.

Public vs private regattas

Every regatta has a visibility setting. public regattas appear in the directory and any URL holder can view live standings. unlisted regattas are hidden from the directory but anyone with the URL can still view. private regattas are visible only to the owner and invited scorers. Sailor names and sail numbers in a public regatta are part of the public race record — the same information published in any traditional regatta results posting.

Sharing & selling

We don’t sell your data. We don’t share it with advertisers or third-party marketers. The infrastructure providers listed above process data on our behalf to make the app work.

Deletion

You can delete any regatta you own from its Settings page; that removes the regatta row, its races, and its check-ins from the database. To delete your account entirely, email hello@racecommittee.app — we’ll handle it manually during beta.
